By 'efforts to overcome the difficulties' do you mean ignore the overseas rule? If so I don't think we can justify that on principle. The whole house of cards would come tumbling down. As I said he knew the basis upon which he moved to France.
If you mean that am English club should make a concerted effort to sign him, them fair enough, but I think that any English club who needs Armitage in their squad who approach him when available anyway. Whether the opportunity would be attractive enough for him remains to be seen. I suspect he went to France because the opportunities in England at the time weren't.
