Default microsoft net framework 2

I remember having to D/L this prog to get another prog to work and every thing worked fine. A couple of months a go I was prompted to install updates and after about 30 mins it told me it has failed to update, now every time I shut my comp down it tries to install for about 30 mins before it gives up and shuts down
If I delete microsoft net framework 2 will I be doing any harm to my comp before re installing it, I've tried to do it while it is still on my comp and it will not let me

Some apps that depend on the framework may not work properly after you uninstall it but reinstalling .net will sort that.

If you have any problems, you could try the .net cleanup tool:
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/arc...30/611355.aspx

This will enable you to completely remove .net frameworks..after reinstalling, you should be able to install all the updates.

Thanks, I managed to un-install all of it using add/remove. Should I reinstall 1, 2, 3, and 4 or will 4 be enough?
