Is anyone else starting their club pre-season this week? Any gruelling fitness sessions? Any nutrition tips?

Mine's tomorrow. Fitness will certainly be gruelling, but I think that's more because we're completely unfit than anything else.

I sit here signed off work with a bad back, my fitness was way way way on the up and now its buggerred

Im also thinking that at 43 I may have to retire or play for the old boys

Mine wasn't too bad. Maybe because I was boxing in the off season but I just didn't feel like I was being pushed like I have before. No nasty 200m sprints or the like!

Obviously being an England supporter I'm a masochist, but I used to enjoy the 'agony' of pre season, as it made me feel ready for the season!

However, I now have the untold joy of watching my sons go through it as seniors!
