Our player-coach is his 30th season of adult rugby. He still goes well off the bench for 20 minutes each week.
We lost 34-17 to last year's runners up, after being 17-17 at HT. Losing our 9 and 10 within minutes of each other just after HT certainly didn't help and we lost all structure and direction in the backs. Defended bravely, but just couldn't get out of our half and the defeat was inevitable. I took over the kicking duties (all punts, we never got near enough to kick at goal) and confirmed my status as the 2nd best kicker in the team, which I already knew. Glad the coach knows too now.
